This is actually a very simple answer. It looks like it will happen and I’m not against it, because:
It will decrease all the kinds of pollution highways produce, air, noise and water. This will force people to use public transport, which will make us more active, thus we will solve the obesity problem we have in South Africa. Then there is the increase in property value in the city CBD and all areas inside the circle. Now that’s the positives for me.
I think we really need to stop the fight against e-tolling and start the fight against misappropriation of TAX money. The e-tolls are only the consequence of TAX money embezzled on government corruption. We need to see the bigger picture and stop fighting the symptoms. The only people making money out of the fight is the lawyers that charge the fees to go to court.
Where are the lawyers and advocates that made money from third party cases and milked the system for all it’s worth? Why don’t they give back to the community?
