Why Russia is wrong about Crimea

17 March 2014, 16:10

There is a lot of US bashing going on, because I guess it is sometimes nice to see someone standing up to the Big Guy. Unfortunately Russia is wrong.

Imagine this happen in SA. We have some political issues and before new nationwide elections are called for, Holland invades the Western Cape. They claim that they have a traditional right to the Western Cape as most of the large white and colored population has a little Dutch in them. The Western Cape government then announces that citizens of the Western Cape can vote in a referendum to join Holland. The vote is excluded for the rest of the country and the decision is final.

Now clearly Holland has no right to do this, just as Russia have no right to do what they did. This is an issue affecting the whole of the country and not just the Western Cape, or Crimea. So if the US object on the legality of the issue, will they still be “the enemy?”
