Articles like the drivel which is leaking out from the Oscar Pistorius case gets more "airtime" than pressing matters such as the State of the Nation speech, the newly formed Agang party and the turmoil at Anglo in Rustenburg.
Yes, we all get it, Oscar is a celeb, his girlfriend was a celeb before her untimely death, but come on ... why is everyone so fascinated by this morbid story which, in the greater scheme of things, are nothing compared to the challenges we, as a South African society face?
It is absolutely sickening to say the least.
Why is Oscar's case so important?
Hundreds of people die under various circumstances every day, so why not report on them? What about Muyexe, the town which Zuma has forgotten? Where is the real investigative journalism that we are all yearning for which will make a difference in the country in the long run?
Seriously, for those of you @ News24 who decide which news makes it onto news24.co.za I have only three words ... "Shame on you"
For those of you who are actively following the Oscar Pistorius I have the following to say "Get a bloody life, open your dammed eyes and see the country burn around you, start becoming involved, be activists"
There are things much more important to your well being and those of the people you love than the story about Oscar
