While browsing the comments on one specific article on this site, I stumbled upon such vast amount of stupidity that it motivated me to write a story, don't worry it won't be a long one.
The article was about South African youth not being optimistic about the country's future. One commenter by the name of Nathan was justifying leaving SA for good and I can't say I blame him.
What caught my attention were the 2 comments below it, which were written by what I can only assume to be ANC supporters. The one went on about the main problem being racism and in the same breath attacked white people. As ignorant as this comment was, it didn't irritate me nearly as much as the next one. It went a little like:
"Bye, we won't miss you, SA doesn't need you"
People like this are the problem. IN fact, South Africa does need these people and quite desperately at that. When all our highly skilled labour is leaving the country, it's left us ill prepared to run our country efficiently.
When all the engineers have left the country, who will build our infrastructure?
When all the Doctors have left, who will heal our sick?
With all the teachers leaving, who will educated our children?
But I suppose these "types" won't be happy until we're all sitting in the dark, with no food, no water and no services. Then I guarantee you South Africa will miss them, although sadly I doubt they'll miss South Africa.
