Your lies will forever define you.

13 February 2014, 08:25

Think before you speak, consider the impact of your statement before you utter words that will damage your reputation. That is a lesson I hope for all people but more importantly to Lawyers. Lawyers have a unique position in society, they know the law and with that comes the irresponsibility of abusing what you know. The problem with South African Lawyers is the lack of proper regulation. The task of overseeing bad manners, lies and uncouth behavior should be regulated by a staunch regulatory body. The Law Society is not enough. When a lawyer abuses her position and creates lies to support her poor argument, it is not only uncomely, it is disgusting. The Lawyer highlights a facet of her morbid personality that displays deep insecurity and lack of proper wit. A note to candidate attorneys, please be wise when approaching Law firms, it is best to do your research properly before contacting their offices. This week I contacted an uncouth attorney with bad manners that made me pity the position of fellow lawyers.  You cannot outsmart your opponent with lies. The Law Society needs to monitor the behavior of its members and do so with tighter regulations. To that sad lawyer that chose to lie and threaten legal action for no apparent reason, remember you displayed not only your true nature, you disgraced your name, your race, your religion. It is testament to the type of law you practice, the type that needs to be barred.
