Before I’m judged and criticised, bear in mind that this letter is written from my point of view and I’ll stand to be corrected if there are viable arguments to prove me wrong.
I’ll be honest. I don’t support this "walk to economic freedom" purely because it’s done for the wrong reasons and I believe Julius is using it to grow his own wealth instead of that of the poor.
To them (the poor) this is just a seemingly easy fix - a way to lift them out of their impoverished circumstances...their last hope.
It’s quite sad that the majority of the ANCYL followers are uneducated people (some way past their youth) who don’t know about alternatives...this is all they’ve been taught to know.
Then the very people who announce on public platforms that they will fight for the poor, takes FULL advantage of that fact.
The ANCYL’s audiences are brainwashed by promises of rosy futures which is unfair to them…there is no rosy future without hard work, whether you have land or not.
Secondly, how will the fact that they have land but don’t know how to “work” it, benefit them and us? Have people not seen the dismal failure of such a campaign in Zimbabwe or is this part of the selective hearing and seeing process?
I wish they would remove the ANC-coloured sunglasses and see the facts for what they are.
The government can’t even achieve their election goals and now it would put South Africans’ welfare (your families included) into the hands of the uneducated masses - and feed them what, when it fails? More lies or will this again be blamed on others incapable of defending themselves in person?
You don’t just need water and land to make that piece of land worth something; you need skill (another department the government is failing in)! And then children are (allegedly) removed from schools to make the march look popular...how ironic is that?
We all have a responsibility in this country to educate where possible to really give these people an honest chance to be a part of the economy in their country. I would like the real leaders in this country to please stand up.
It’s time everyone woke up and smelt the burnt coffee.
