The deputy president of the ANC, Jacob Zuma, has been targeted by the so-called disciplined cadres of the ANC under the stewardship of Thabo Mbeki and Patrick Terror Lekota.
This offensive was perpetuated by the recent outcome of the provincial nominations where Zuma emerged victorious. Lekota has many at time referred to him as a dedicated and disciplined cadre of the ANC but his recent fight-back strategy wherein he attacked and injured the person of Jacob Zuma suggests the opposite of what Lekota has purported to be.
It is clear that the Mbeki clan, represented by yes men and women like Terror Lekota, Mavivi Mayakayaka-Manzini, Phumzile Mlambo-Nquka, disgraced Manto Tshabalala-Msimang, Naledi Pandor, Alec Erwin, Essop Pahad, Sydney Mufamadi and Mbazima Shilowa to name a few, will emerge from Limpopo bruised by the victory that Jacob Zuma will scoop there.
After thorough analysis of Thabo Mbeki's campaign trail led by its outspoken protagonist Terror Lekota, I have reasons to believe that the attack on the ANC deputy president and all cadres of the broad alliance structures represent a real threat to the attainment of the objectives of the National Democratic Revolution and the unity of the ANC and its alliance.
Part of a conspiracy
We must also be aware of the ideological dilution or confusion that constantly emanates from the realm of practical politics in which we operate.
As a progressive cadre of the ANC, I have therefore decided to call the attention of all progressive cadres to this development, not only out of a concern for Jacob Zuma, but also because I feel strongly that the leadership of the alliance partners must ensure that the method employed by Lekota and his lieutenant to raise their grievance must be publicly condemned.
I am beginning to suspect that Lekota is part of the political conspiracy led by the National Prosecuting Authority who are hard at work to ruin the political career of Jacob Zuma and silence his support. Lekota's attack on Jacob Zuma and his support characterise him as a sycophant - this has been demonstrated by his lack of knowledge about history and his lack of ability to lead and to sing which make him angry at those who are perfect at both.
Lekota's attack on Jacob Zuma signal the desperation on a leader who fell out of favour with the rank and file of the ANC due to his lack of consistency. Jacob Zuma is our organic intellectual; as such we will continue to value the contribution he made during the struggle for liberation of South African majority.
Unlike Terror Lekota, Jacob Zuma never confuses the immediate with the ultimate, because he never loses sight of the ultimate while grappling with the immediate.
We are moving to a point were we view Terror Lekota as the ideological, political and class enemy of the working class and poor of which Jacob Zuma is part.
Hands off Jabob Zuma!
