It is with amazement that I saw Zuma's comment ”spending money on buying a dog and taking it for walks belonged to white culture and was not the African way” ! As far as I can remember, dogs was as much a part of their daily living/culture looking after cattle, hunting and also as an early warning when anyone approached their house (Hut).
I am sure that if Zuma did not spend all the tax payers money on security systems for his house he would have invested money in a dog to keep out unwanted guests (I suppose the tax payers would have forked out for that too). If you are not able to look after your dog/animal, how can you show any compassion for your family or fellow human beings?
What is next? Don’t feed your cattle or spend money on veterinarians as that is not part of your culture either? Zuma also stated, “I wouldn’t want to stay with daughters who are not getting married. You’ve got to have kids. Kids are important to a woman because they actually give an extra training to a woman, to be a mother,” maybe Zuma should have extra training to be a President.
