Zuma is creating an equal opportunity society in SA

28 March 2013, 10:19
What is an equal opportunity society? Well, during negotiations era of pre-1994 when parties could not come to an agreement about economic and political concessions, Mr Joe Slovo came up with the suggestion that would broker a ‘deal’ between blacks and white and the deal became known as the famous and controversial ‘sunset clause’. This concession was meant to ensure that the country eventually corrects itself and people will ultimately have equal opportunities.

Sunset clause meant: Whites could go on with their lives without any retribution for their past sins - while blacks will start afresh on a clean slate...just as long as whites will help them.

How is this affecting Zoomer? Well the ‘clever one’ realised  he had inherited a society that does not only have high expectation from an ANC government but rather people have been carrying a desperate urge of entitlement to what the white people are enjoying today. Blacks feel betrayed by their white “partners” because they haven’t fulfilled or are refusing to fulfil the one simple condition as prescribed in the sunset clause (Help us, and we will forgive you).

Well, after realising this dire call by blacks South Africa, Zuma decided that he would let the people of the country seek their own repatriation.

The Gravy Train of Mandela’s era was just too slow and too small; while the queen BEE of Mbeki’s reign had a sting it was just too elitist; under Zoomer it is free for ‘all’. This includes black and white, rich or poor, educated or illiterate, young or old (just as long as the young respect the old) – your chances of becoming an overnight mining magnet are just as equal as your chances of becoming a beggar on the street.

South Africa under Zuma is truly an equal opportunity society…but some are more equal than others in this animal farm.
