2014. The announcement that president Jacob Zuma is to step down or sideways to make way for a new President of South Africa Cyril Ramaphosa. Zuma is to remain as president of the ANC.
What are the chances?
The ANC should be concerned with the way things are going, Business confidence has been declining, foreign investment is at an all time low. Service delivery protests are at the worst levels ever. Less jobs. All this has happened under the Zuma watch. Surely the ANC can see this. More and more people are voicing their dissatisfaction of the ANC. Reading the blogs from 2 years ago and even a year ago there were not many black people voicing opposition against the ANC. These days more and more black people are starting to voice their opposition. Even the ANC trolls from a year ago are less vocal.
So, would it be in the interest on South Africa if the ruling party and the government become two entities? The tri part alliance is part of the ANC and not government. The government becomes perceived as an independent body with the only interest being the people and the country.
Just a short thought, need to go now, have to make a new cup of coffee.
