Motive for the arrest of Paul O'Sullivan and Sarah Jane Trent

14 February 2017, 13:33
Paul O'Sullivan lays a charge of corruption against the acting SAPS head Khomotso Phahlane with IPID, then SAPS/Hawks send a massive task force to O' Sullivan's house, including heavily armed members of the National Intervention Unit, which clearly shows it is a highly planned operation. For what purpose? Well if they go to O'Sullivan's house, then clearly the intent was to arrest Paul O'Sullivan, not so?
His suspicion is aroused when a METRO COP comes to his front door asking him about an old car, which was supposedly involved in a car accident 2 weeks prior.Only problem is that Metro Police does not investigate cases, that function is with SAPS.
O'Sulivan gets suspicious and leaves the house.
Shortly after that the task force arrives, dont get O'Sullivan, then arrest the next best target, O'Sullivan's assistant, attorney Sarah-Jane Trent. They also seize her phone and send it for forensic downloading.
Why this whole exercise?
Simply so that O'Sullivan is taken out of circulation for a while, and prevent him from assisting IPID with the investigation.Remember, he is the complainant after all
Also to try and find out what O'Sullivan knows.
O' Sullivan was also arrested late today.
The task force against O' Sullivan is led by General Jan Mabula, from the Hawks in North West.
Mabula also led the arrest of Genl Johan Booysen and almost 30 detectives from the erstwhile Cato Manor organized crime unit.
He was also responsible for the arrest of Gerrie Nel, when Nel was preparing to have Jackie Selebi arrested. Nel was released by the court after arrest by Mabula.
