Lusaka - Zambian President Levy Mwanawasa, who is hospitalised in France, will undergo a second medical review next week after suffering a stroke, his deputy announced on Saturday.
Mwanawasa was examined by French doctors on Friday at the Percy Military Hospital in Paris, said Rupiah Banda, Zambia's vice-president.
"He continues to receive treatment for hypertension in Paris. His next review is due on Monday," Banda said, adding that the president's condition remained stable.
Mwanawasa, 59, suffered a stroke while attending an African Union meeting in Egypt and was later evacuated to France for specialised treatment.
