Rabat - An appeal court in Morocco on Tuesday upheld a prison term imposed on the editor of two satirical magazines for slandering King Mohammed VI, but reduced it to three years instead of four.

Last week Ali Lamrabet was said by his lawyer to be "near death" after being on hunger strike for more than a month to protest his initial sentence.

The appeal court also barred Lamrabet's satirical magazines, Demain and Doumane from publishing.
