Lagos - At least seven people have been killed in clashes between two rival street gangs in the southern Nigerian oil city of Port Harcourt, press reports said on Tuesday.
Trouble erupted on Monday at the Nkpolu Oroworukwo area of the city when at least six members of a gang known as "Debam Klans" were killed in a reprisal attack by a rival group for the killing of its leader on Saturday, they said.
The papers reported that Nyeche Ihinwo was shot dead by the other gang because of a dispute over the control of the city's lucrative motor parks.
Gang members usually collect money from bus drivers who operate in the city.
Two weeks ago, about 20 people died when fighting broke out between the gangs and the police in the city.
