Geneva - Polio has been stamped out in two more African countries, leaving just four nations in the world where the deadly disease is still circulating, the United Nations health agency said on Wednesday.

The polio virus has not infected anyone in Egypt or Niger during the past 12 months.

This leaves only Afghanistan, India, Nigeria and Pakistan as countries where the disease is still classified as endemic, said the World Health Organisation.
