$249m power boost for Ethiopia

Tunis - The African Development Bank made a loan and grant to Ethiopia worth a combined $249.5m to fund power projects and health, education and water services, the bank said on Thursday.
"The $131.5m loan will help in financing the rural electrification project which aims to extend the national electricity grid," a bank statement said.
The bank also awarded a $118m grant to finance what it called protection of basic services such as sanitation, primary health care, education, water and support for farming.
