Dubai - Al-Qaeda's second-in-command, Ayman al-Zawahiri, said on Tuesday that Islamist fighters would "break the back" of the Ethiopians who got "bogged down" by the United States in "a real disaster" in Somalia.

The right-hand man of Osama bin Laden declared: "I announce the good news to US President George W Bush: he has bogged down his Ethiopian slaves in a real disaster in Somalia. The Mujahedin will break their back."
