Dakar - Senegalese President Abdoulaye Wade's ruling coalition won an easy victory in legislative elections marred by a low turnout and an opposition boycott, according to the electoral commission on Wednesday.
Turnout for Sunday's polls was just 34.85%, according to a commission official who wanted to remain anonymous.
A 17-party opposition grouping had called for an unprecedented boycott of the elections.
The complete provisional results, which gave Wade's ruling coalition 131 of a possible 150 seats, were to be officially announced later.
