German fined for beach sex

Nairobi - A Kenyan court on Friday fined a German man and a Kenyan prostitute $15 each for having sex on the beach at dawn, a court official said.
Magistrate Mildred Obura ruled that Joachim Pasohier and Abdalla Chungwa, who pleaded guilty to the offence of "causing public nuisance", be jailed for nine months if they failed to pay the fine.
Police caught the pair in the act outside a beachfront nightclub near the port city of Mombasa, about 500km southeast of Nairobi, the official explained.
Kenya's Indian Ocean coast, known for its beaches, fishing and water sports, is a popular destination for European tourists and attracts hundreds of thousands of foreign visitors a year.
Sex on the beach is popularly known as "morning glory" in the Kenyan coast.
