Nairobi - Kenyan opposition leader Raila Odinga said on Thursday more than 1 000 people have died in unrest across the east African nation since President Mwai Kibaki's disputed re-election in a December 27 vote.
"The number of dead is more than 1 000 and the majority of those are bullet wounds," said Odinga. He accuses police of shooting his supporters under government orders.
