Mogadishu - Two foreign doctors, a Somali driver and a reporter died on Monday after the doctors' vehicle hit a landmine in the southern Somali town of Kismayo, said police. Another foreign doctor and three Somalis were injured.
The Somali reporter was passing by and was injured in the explosion and later died in the hospital, said Mohamed Abdirashid Dure, who worked at the hospital.
All the victims in the vehicle worked for the Dutch branch of Medecins Sans Frontieres, the international medical aid organisation, said Kismayo police chief Ibrahim Kalif Shanfol. He said the doctors killed were French and Kenyan.
The doctors had been working at the town hospital for four months, Dure said.
