Missing UK tourist found dead Tourist shot dead in Uganda

Kampala - The naked body of a Danish tourist with deep wounds has been found in a suburb in the Ugandan capital Kampala, police and the Danish Embassy said on Thursday.

Police said the man may have committed suicide.

"I can confirm that a Danish citizen is dead. Since it's a police case, I cannot give you more details," said Lotte Grave, press officer at the Danish Embassy in Kampala.

Details about the 35-year-old, including his home town, could not immediately be found but according to Bukedde, a local newspaper, he arrived in the country more than a month ago, was staying in a backpackers camp site in a suburb west of the city and was last seen on Monday while riding a motorcycle.

"We are suspecting that the tourist might have committed suicide. The body has been taken to hospital for post mortem. We are still investigating," said Kampala police spokesperson Simeon Nsubuga. - Sapa-dpa
