Nairobi - Kenyan Prime Minister Raila Odinga has undergone a successful laser eye surgery in Germany, his spokesperson said on Tuesday.

"The doctors have prescribed the expected bed rest, but he is recuperating well," his spokesperson Salim Lone told AFP, two days after Odinga left the country.

Lone said doctors will advise the prime minister when he can travel, although he was expected on Friday.

Earlier this month Odinga was sworn into office in a coalition government created after protracted talks which ended post-election violence.
