Pirates release Dutch ship

Amsterdam - Gunmen who seized a Dutch-owned ship off northern Somalia a month ago demanding a $1.1m ransom have released the vessel, the Dutch shipping company said on Wednesday.
The MV Amiya Scan, managed by the Dutch Reider Shipping BV, was hijacked by Somali pirates on May 25 as it made its way to Romania from the Kenyan port city of Mombasa.
Reider Shipping said in a statement the vessel was en route for the Suez canal and all its crew members were well, but it would not give details about how it secured the ship's release.
Hijackings are common in the chaotic country's un-patrolled waters, where pirates normally treat their hostages well in anticipation of hefty ransoms.
