78 white Zim farmers keep land

Windhoek - A tribunal ruled on Friday that 78 white Zimbabwean farmers can stay on their land because the government's land reform scheme discriminated against them, although it was not clear what impact the judgement would have.

The Zimbabwean government "is in breach of the SADC treaty with regards to discrimination", said Judge Luis Mondlane, president of the Southern African Development Community (SADC) tribunal.

Three of the 78 farmers have been forced from their land.
