SA mission meets Zanu-PF

Cape Town - The South African observer mission to
monitor the upcoming parliamentary election on March 31 in Zimbabwe met the ruling party, Zanu-PF, on Tuesday, the South African Government news agency BuaNews said on Wednesday.
The observer mission met the official opposition Movement for Democratic Change on Monday.
BuaNews reported that following a pledge to interact "with all relevant stakeholders" in the run-up to the elections in Zimbabwe, the observer mission had met the ruling party's head of external relations Didymus Mutasa. The South African mission was led by former Limpopo premier and now Member of Parliament
Ngoako Ramatlhodi.
South African deputy Foreign Minister Aziz Pahad told BuaNews that the SA Government was committed to ensuring that polls in Zimbabwe next week Thursday, took place "in a free and fair environment".
The mission said in a statement that it would "continue to engage all relevant stakeholders involved in the process of elections to have an informed view about the situation in Zimbabwe."
Since its arrival in Zimbabwe last week, the SA mission had met
President Robert Mugabe, the Zimbabwe Electoral Commission, the Electoral Supervisory Commission, the Zimbabwe Electoral Support Network, the Zimbabwe Council of Churches, the Zimbabwe Crisis Coalition and the National Constitutional Assembly, reported BuaNews.
