Zim pastor held for raping maid

Harare - A church minister who is a staunch supporter of Zimbabwe President Robert Mugabe has been arrested on allegations of raping his domestic worker five times, say reports on Tuesday.
Obadiah Musindo, the founder of an organisation called Destiny for Africa Network, frequently appeared on Zimbabwean state television and at functions praising Mugabe and his ruling Zimbabwe African National Union - Patriotic Front party.
The reports said that the minister - who went by the title of reverend - was now in Harare Remand Prison awaiting trial in May.
Women's rights groups had threatened to hold nationwide protests for what appeared to be police reluctance to arrest Musindo, who was seen mingling with dignitaries at a state funeral in Harare last week.
The reports said the allegations against Musindo arose from incidents in 2004, after a 22-year-old woman he had hired as a domestic helper was raped a total of five times before she ran away in July 2004 and reported the matter to police.
