Zim crisis irks SA

Pretoria - South Africa is concerned about the economic meltdown in neighbouring Zimbabwe, Foreign Affairs Minister Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma said on Tuesday.
"We are concerned in general about the economic
situation, which is deteriorating,", she said.
The minister was hosting the deputy prime minister of Italy, Massimo D Alema, for bilateral political and economic discussions in Pretoria.
She added that it would be difficult to rebuild an economy in which there was polarisation and division.
Asked about why the Zimbabwean delegation did not attend mediation talks in South Africa at the weekend, Dlamini-Zuma said: "There must be a good reason why they did not turn up.
"I don't think it was a sign of wanting to pull out (of the talks), because they are committed to the mediation," said Dlamini-Zuma.
It was important on all fronts that the economy in Zimbabwe was regenerated, she said.
