Harare - Zimbabwean President Robert Mugabe is to get an invite to the second European Union-Africa summit slated for Portugal, The Herald has quoted an official as saying.
Pedro Courela, advisor to Portugal's Secretary of State for Co-operation, Joao Gomes Gravinho, said: "Everyone will receive the same invitation."
Courela said the invitations would be issued in the next few days. His statements followed a recent decision by EU parliamentarians and their counterparts to invite Mugabe to the summit.
According to reports, Information and Publicity Minister Sikhanyiso Ndlovu said he expected Mugabe's invitation to come through the AU chairperson and Ghanaian President John Kufuor.
