Harare - Two Zimbabwean doctors were killed and another seriously injured after a light aircraft they were travelling in burst into flames on take-off near Harare, said aviation officials on Thursday.

"Two of the doctors died on the spot while one of the doctors has been taken to hospital," said Zimbabwe civil aviation authority director, David Chawota.

The accident took place on Tuesday after one of the wings of the single-engine plane touched the ground on take-off. The three doctors had been on their way to Botswana's Seretse Khama University.
