Sources: Tsvangirai set to win

Harare - Opposition leader Morgan Tsvangirai is on course to beat Robert Mugabe in the first round of Zimbabwe's presidential election but will fall short of an outright victory, sources close to the electoral commission said on Wednesday.
"We don't have the final figure yet but at the last count we had between 48 and 50%" for Tsvangirai, said one senior source.
Another source said Tsvangirai, leader of the Movement for Democratic Change, was understood to have won more than 47% in the presidential election which was held on March 29.
"The figure is higher than that but less than 50%," he said.
The electoral commission is due to gather the candidates on Thursday to oversee the start of a collation and verification process.
One of Mugabe's chief lieutenants, Justice Minister Patrick Chinamasa, refused to comment about the possible outcome of the election.
"There is going to (be) verification tomorrow and only after the verification process will we be able to talk about who got what percent," he told AFP.
Mugabe's chief spokesperson George Charamba refused to comment on the figures.
"I am not aware of any such figure. I was with (electoral commission chairperson) Justice (George) Chiweshe yesterday (Tuesday) and he was waiting for results from different centres. I certainly have no idea where those figures are coming from."
