Another MDC Member of Parliament has been jailed in Zimbabwe in what the former opposition party says is part of a conspiracy by President Robert Mugabe's Zanu-PF.
Zimbabwe's coalition government still has many challenges to face.
Harare - A Zimbabwean judge has ruled that a respected human rights campaigner and 31 other activists accused of plotting to overthrow President Robert Mugabe should remain in custody.
Opposition leaders say the detention of Zimbabwe Peace Project leader Jestina Mukoko is part of Mugabe's clampdown on the pro-democracy movement.
High Court Judge Alphias Chitakunye rejected an application for the activists' immediate release and said on Friday that they should stay in custody until they appear in the magistrates' court on Monday.
Defence attorney Beatrice Mtwetwa said the ruling proved there had been "a breakdown of law and order".
Mukoko was abducted from her home by security agents in early December.
