Sarkozy's fat rolls airbrushed

  • Paris - The French magazine Paris Match touched up a photograph taken of President Nicolas Sarkozy during his US vacation to get rid of some unattractive rolls of flesh around his waist, according to the weekly l'Express on Thursday.

L'Express contrasted the original photograph taken of Sarkozy, sitting bare to the waist in a paddle boat, with the Paris Match photo that was airbrushed to get rid of the "love handles".

The weekly quoted unnamed Paris Match sources as saying that Sarkozy's "seated position on the boat accentuated the bulge" and that "the correction was made during the print".

Reached by AFP, Paris-Match declined to comment on the report.

Sarkozy returned on Monday from a two week vacation at the US lakeside resort of Wolfeboro in New Hampshire.

He was the guest of Agnes Cromback, the president of jewellers Tiffany-France, and Mathilde Agostinelli, head of PR at fashion house Prada-France, and a close friend of Sarkozy's wife Cecilia.

Paris-Match is owned by a close friend of Sarkozy, businessman Arnaud Lagardere.
