Pretoria - Missing Sheldean Human's mother, Elize Human, said she still has hope that her daughter is alive.

Speaking to News24 by phone on Friday afternoon, Human sounded exhausted but said she is "just getting strength from above to carry on".

"I want to be there for her when she comes back," she said.

Human said that everyone in the family was praying and believed that Sheldean was still alive.

Meanwhile, police spokesperson Andre Smith said that there are no new leads on the case. "At the moment we are still looking for the girl," he said.

"There were leads we were following up but nothing positive has emerged from those leads."

Seven-year-old Sheldean disappeared from her Pretoria Gardens home on February 18. She was last seen with Andrew Jordaan, 25 on the day she went missing.

Jordaan has been charged with kidnapping Sheldean Human, and will appear in court on March 9 for a formal bail application.
