  • Pretoria - The Sheldean Trust Fund has been set up by Laerskool Tuinrand in Pretoria to help with the funeral of murdered seven-year-old Sheldean Human.

Headmaster Pikkie van Amstel said on Wednesday the trust fund would in future help the families of any other pupils in the same predicament.

Ward committee member Phillip van Staden said on Wednesday Sheldean's family was waiting for police investigations to be finalised before any funeral arrangements could be made.

Sheldean's body was found in a culvert in Pretoria West on Monday night after she had been missing for two weeks from her Pretoria Gardens home.

Van Amstel said pupils and teachers at the school were calmer than they were on Tuesday after finding out about Sheldean's death.

"Traumatised pupils along with some educators are already receiving counselling," he said.

The SA Police Service and the education department would be on 24-hour standby to supply counselling for anyone at Laerskool Tuinrand who needed it.

Andrew Jordaan, who pointed out to police where he had hidden Sheldean's body, will appear in court on Friday for a bail application.

Jordaan, 25, who was the last person to be seen with Sheldean, faces charges of kidnapping and murder.

Van Amstel will lead a delegation of pupils and teachers dressed in pink and blue to the Pretoria magistrate's court where Jordaan will be appearing.

  • Anyone wanting to contribute to the fund can do so at any Absa branch; account number: 9061498287.
