Ground war not ruled out

Camp David - President George W Bush has not ruled out using US ground troops in his planned war on global terrorism in the wake of strikes on New York and Washington, his spokesperson said on Saturday.

Asked whether Bush's increasingly intense public rhetoric aimed to prepare the nation for the possibility of deploying ground troops, Ari Fleischer replied: "The president is preparing the public for all eventualities."

"The president has not ruled anything out," he said in a conference call with reporters. - Sapa-AFP
