New Delhi - Cybersex fans who try to access sleazy websites through Internet kiosks run by New Delhi's city government better be prepared to smile for the camera, a news report said on Wednesday.

A report in the Hindu newspaper said surveillance cameras have been installed to capture anyone trying to access pornographic websites on video. The offenders' image is then flashed across 30 other Internet stations across city.

"This embarrasses the culprit so much that he does not dare to make another visit to such a site," Sugata Mitra of the National Institute of Information Technology (NIIT), the city government's partner in the scheme said.

Delhi's municipal government set up the Internet stations last year as part of a computer education project in the city's less affluent areas, allowing the poor free access to the world wide web.

"After we installed these cameras, the problem has been contained. Not only am I able to monitor from my office who is doing what, but the moment someone transgresses the limits he is caught," Mitra said. - Sapa/DPA
