Matrix Reloaded tops SA box office

Johannesburg - The Matrix Reloaded, the second round in brothers Andy and Larry Wachowski's sci-fi trilogy, has broken several local box office records.
The movie shot off to a record start with midnight previews, which took over R80 000 and now lays claim to being the biggest five-day weekend opening at over R7.1 million, beating The Lord Of The Rings: The Two Towers by more than 16%.
The Matrix Reloaded is the biggest Warner Bros opening weekend of all time in South Africa and has secured its spot in SA's box office history as the biggest Sunday opening.
The film also holds the biggest three-day and five-day industry opening weekend for 2003.
