Lucky Dube moves in

Cape Town - I left my box, went away for two days and came back hoping there would have been a murder perhaps, a major sex scene between two of the women, an attempted escape or something vaguely juicy to watch.
But no. Instead, they've spent Thursday night doing a
contemporary dance and watching a video. Watching a video! Have you ever seen anything more boring and banal than a group of people watching a video? I was forced to change channels.
Astoundingly Big Brother gave them 130% reward for their
tribal/contemporary dance interpretation, which was this weeks' riveting task. This was possibly because they wanted them to feel shitty about the fact that they'd only wagered something like 25% for the task.
I saw bits and pieces of the performance and it wasn't 100 times better than their others. But, they're at least happy with their reward and should have an okay week next week, which is their last.
If I were them I'd simply buy 130% more booze, request over-the-counter medication and get through the week in a zombified haze.
What's with Stefan
What was with Stefan being in the shower for 60 minutes? This has to be a ploy on his part to rile them up, get some good solid airtime and make people like me talk about it and possibly go: "Oooh Stefan has become interesting. Let's keep him in."
I missed the full day screening of the show but caught the highlights package, and it seems he was riling them up in
more ways than one. Generally being shirky and getting himself spoken about. At least he's trying something in the build up to Sunday.
Now that I have selected my winner I don't really mind what happens. Whether Stefan goes on Sunday or not makes little difference to me.
I am however very interested to see what actually happens with the voting. I mean - what countries are gonna vote who? I think the very division of votes is going to be interesting and show us the kind of thing the majority of viewers are wanting.
For instance - is Mwisho as popular as he seems to be? How many countries are backing him? And Tapuwa? Is she more popular than Stefan, or is it the other way round? At least Sunday will give us some insights, even if there are no more nominations and stuff.
Ooooh - you know what they should have done in this next last week?! They love the sponsors soooo much they should have got some really excellent prizes. I'm thinking a Smartcar, cellphones, home theatre systems and so on, and they should have made the housemates play for them.
Of course they wouldn't do it, because if the sponsor gave an awesome prize they wouldn't expect to pay for their "advertising" and Big Brother wouldn't make any
money.
Pity, because the housemates could have been set some super cool challenges, something like that task in Survivor where they have to stand in a very uncomfortable position for as long as they can. Remember that. Everyone in a really torturous postion. The last-one-standing wins.
I think they all deserve a little something, or at least a chance to win some other things.
Distraction
However, I see they will be having a small distraction tonight. Friday. Lucky Dube is going to visit. Lucky Dube is a very cool Reggae musician and star, so they'll have a good time. Quite frankly they could get Heinz Winkler and they'd be over the moon.
Oh - you know what I was thinking last week? They should have let the housemates watch Idols. Not the extra channel, but just the main show. It wouldn't have to have been during the Sunday night broadcast.
It could have been afterwards. It would have been sooo interesting to see their responses and hear their opinions - especially if they were encouraged to watch it as honestly as poss.
A missed opportunity methinks. Get Big Brother viewers
into Idols, so that when Big Brother ends they tune in to watch Idols instead.
Weird SMSs
To end - the SMSs. They seem to have a weirdy life of their own, don't they? In fact, sometimes I see that Sammi is remarkably still in the house. The SMSs say so and explain that they like him.
Recently the majority of comments have been going to Tapuwa, Mwisho, Stefan and Gaetano. On Thursday I saw a marked increase in messages going to Warona. How interesting is that? She's never featured big time in the messages.
When the SMSs saw that she spoke a lot they badmouthed her. This was interspered with a few messages of good will. Then these died down and she came up only every now and then.
But Thursday night the SMSs were on her side. Sometimes a variety of them appearing in a row. She's not up for nomination either, so these are obviously messages supporting her for the win.
Gosh - this would have also have been such a brilliant time to show them some of those SMS's. Play them in the house. In the order they appear. Seriously freak them out.
But, there's no point going on and on about what could have been. We have Lucky Dube. But it's not for long. He'll be doing a 20-minute performance with them.
He really should have stayed for supper. He's gonna be craned
over the walls for some reason. Not sure why. I think it's supposed to be "different". I suppose it is. I mean - how many people get craned into a house?
So. That's that. The latest, could-be-juicier hot goss. 130% reward. Stefan getting iffy. The SMS's talking to Warona. Lucky Dube for a visit.
It could be waaaay worse. A sleep therapy company could have sponsored a surprise last week task.
What do you say?
