London - Film star Liza Minnelli is still fighting for her life in a Florida
hospital after suffering a series of strokes, a British newspaper
reported on Sunday.
At the weekend friends reported that Minnelli, 54, was no longer
unconscious but still very weak, the Observer newspaper said.
She
collapsed in her mansion in Fort Lauderdale on Thursday and since
then has been in intensive care.
Two weeks ago she was admitted to the Cleveland Clinic after she
was found in her garden in a distressed state following an initial
attack.
A week ago she was allowed to return to her rented home in
the company of a nurse.
The daughter of Hollywood screen icon Judy Garland and film
director Vincente Minnelli is a former member of Hollywood's
original Bratpack, a band of high-living stars that included some
of the biggest names in entertainment during the Sixties.
The star of such varied films as Cabaret, for which she won an
Oscar in 1972, Arthur, with Dudley Moore, and Stepping Out, in
which she co-starred with Julie Walters, Minnelli has spent the
last decade in a series of rehabilitation clinics. - Sapa-DPA
