Murdered boy's image projected in London

London - Police on Saturday projected a
huge image of murdered schoolboy Damilola Taylor onto the side
of a London nightclub in a unique bid to encourage more
witnesses to his killing to come forward. The 30 foot projection was displayed on the side of
Ezekiel's nightclub in Peckham close to where the 10-year-old
Nigerian boy was stabbed to death last month. "It is hoped that this novel way of appealing to the public
from such a busy location close to the murder scene will prompt
the many members of the public who will see the image to pass
on further information to the detectives investigating the
murder," a Scotland Yard spokesperson said. Damilola bled to death after being stabbed in the leg on
his way home from school, just weeks after settling in Britain. His murder provoked a wave of soul-searching about violent
youth crime on poverty-stricken urban estates. Police have so far arrested 13 people in connection with
the murder. Of these, police have released two unconditionally,
and bailed 11 to return in early January.
