Hollywood's hottest looks

Los Angeles - The perfect composite woman would have Nicole Kidman's nose, Winona Ryder's eyes, Kim Basinger's lips, Sandra Bullock's chin, Jennifer Lopez' cheeks and Salma Hayek's body.

At least that's what women seeking to surgically enhance their looks most want to see in the mirror, according to a survey of the cosmetic-surgery wish lists compiled by two plastic surgeons in Beverly Hills.

Drawn from the surgeons' consultations with nearly 1 000 female patients during the past year, the findings offer some insight into what American women consider the paradigms of beauty.

But Dr Richard W. Fleming, co-director of the Beverly Hills Institute of Aesthetic & Reconstructive Surgery, said the facial and physical features most requested by women seeking a nip here and a tuck there also reflect which stars "are the flavour of the moment".

"When people come in for their consultations, they typically have in their own mind a goal they want to achieve," Fleming, who conducted the survey with his partner Dr Toby Mayer, said. "Sometimes, they bring a picture, sometimes they'll tell you exactly what they want, like Jennifer Lopez for cheeks. They'll pick people who are hot because of their careers."

Indeed, the cosmetic surgeon's best-of list is a who's who of A-list movie and TV actresses.

After Kidman, the celebrity schnoz most coveted by female patients belong to Courteney Cox and Catherine Zeta-Jones, while Vanessa Williams and Ashley Judd rank No 2 and No 3, respectively, for peepers.

Uma Thurman and Liv Tyler have the most popular sets of pouty lips, behind Basinger, and Halle Berry and Charlize Theron ranked second and third for their elegant chins.

Right behind Hayek for best body were Elizabeth Hurley and Angelina Jolie, who also ranked No 5 in the lips department.

Two relatively mature actresses, Michelle Pfeiffer, 42, and Rene Russo, 47, were runner-up to Lopez for best cheeks.

Male patients also have their distinct preferences, Fleming said, with Rob Lowe of NBC's "The West Wing" leading the pact for best noses.

Brad Pitt topped the list for lips, Tom Cruise for eyes, Johnny Depp for cheeks (he was also No 2 for lips), Keanu Reeves for chin, Harrison Ford for jawline and Richard Gere for hair. Hollywood hunk Matthew McConaughey, not Arnold Schwarzenegger, has the body every man wants.

Fleming, who boasts a number of stars among his own clientele but says naming names is not good for business, readily admits he is no miracle worker. For many patients, he says, the body of Salma Hayek remains a lofty but unobtainable goal.

"You're not going to take somebody like Rosie O'Donnell and make them look like Catherine Zeta-Jones. It's not going to happen," he said. "So it's largely up to the gene pool to determine who can and can't be among the most beautiful."

Oh, and roughly how much would it set you back to get Kidman's nose, Ryder's eyes, Basinger's lips and Hayek's body? Just $35 000, a veritable bargain, Fleming said.
