Charlie Sheen to tie the knot

Los Angeles - Former Hollywood "bad boy" actor Charlie Sheen is to marry
model-turned-actress Denise Richards, his publicist said on Tuesday.
But publicist Jeff Ballard could not confirm when 36-year-old
Sheen, star of the hit comedy Spin City, planned to tie the knot
with his 30-year-old fiancée.
The marriage will be Sheen's second, after a short-lived
marriage to model Donna Peele which ended in divorce in 1996.
Sheen, the youngest son of film star Martin Sheen and brother of
Emilio Estevez, first tasted fame with the 1980 Vietnam war flick
Platoon. He followed that with Wall Street with Michael Douglas
and Young Guns.
But in the 1990s, the Hollywood wild child found himself in the
headlines of the tabloids more often than in the industry trade
publications, following much publicised battles with drugs and
sojourns with prostitutes.
He suffered a near-fatal drug overdose in 1998 and had run-ins
with the law over drugs and domestic violence.
The actor's name was discovered in Hollywood madam Heidi Fleiss'
notorious black books of prostitution clients, and Fleiss testified
he ran up a $50 000 bill with her escort service.
The actor, who has toned down his wild bachelor lifestyle in
recent years, first met Richards on the set of the 1993 parody
Loaded Weapon 1, which spoofed the Mel Gibson action series
Lethal Weapon.
Richards' movie credits include Wild Thing and a role as Dr Christmas Jones in the 1999 James Bond film The World Is Not
Enough. - Sapa-AFP
