McCartney tops tour earnings

Los Angeles - Former Beatle Paul McCartney has racked up the year's highest-grossing rock tour, raking in more than $126 million in 58 shows, according to figures released by Billboard on Monday.
In a year dominated by veteran acts, the Rolling Stones were second with $90 million while Cher was third with $67.6 million.
The touring duo of Billy Joel and Elton John earned $66 million, while The Dave Matthews Band scored $52.7 million, just beating out Neil Diamond's $52.3 million take.
Britney Spears was next with $43.7 million, followed by Aerosmith ($39 million), Creed ($37 million), Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young ($35 million) and the Eagles who earned $34.9 million for tenth place.
