Press gets Paul's missus down

London - Press criticism following her marriage to Sir Paul McCartney has left Heather Mills "absolutely wiped out", the former model said on Saturday.
"The lowest point of my life has been since the press turned on me really badly, which sounds crazy," said Mills, who married the former Beatle in Ireland last June.
"Now I'm at that stage where I feel absolutely wiped out," she added.
The 35-year-old former swimsuit model and anti-landmine campaigner told the BBC that the press often portrayed her as an accessory to McCartney.
"Everything I've worked for in my life, tried to do and overcome, it's all just been forgotten," Mills said.
Mills, who lost a leg in a traffic accident 10 years ago, said some newspapers had turned against her because she rarely opened up in public.
The bad publicity had even caused manufacturers of prosthetic limbs to shun her, she said.
She told talk show host Michael Parkinson that she found it hard to live in the shadow of Linda McCartney, the former Beatle's first wife, who died in 1998 from breast cancer.
"There's always problems between stepmothers - think of Cinderella, there's the wicked stepmother," she said.
But Mills denied rumours that she doesn't get along with McCartney's adult children, saying that she and fashion designer Stella McCartney do charity work together.
She also dismissed speculation about her possible pregnancy, saying she only had a tiny prospect of conceiving after suffering cancer of the womb and having two ectopic pregnancies.
But Mills said her marriage remained strong.
"(Paul) is a fantastic, fantastic man, but the stuff that comes with it is very hard to deal with," she said.
"He's very romantic, that's why I fell in love with him," she added. - Sapa-AP
