Butler to raise funds for Aids

Johannesburg - South African-born jazz star Jonathan Butler will take part in a benefit performance in Los Angeles on Saturday to raise funds for Aids orphans and abandoned babies in Johannesburg.

The beneficiary of the concert is Acres of Love, an organisation that provides care and hope to abandoned HIV positive babies and those orphaned by the disease.

South Africa's consul general in Los Angeles, Glaudine Mtshali, is expected to attend the event, the organisation said in a statement.

"Butler, who resides in California, was so moved by the plight of these children that he has agreed to a special performance to benefit Acres."
