London - Scottish film giant Sean Connery joined hands with an elite group of actors on Monday as he attended his first premiere in London's West End for 12 years.
Connery, 73, dipped his hands in plaster for his prints to be placed as a permanent fixture in London's Leicester Square as he showed up for the screening of his latest film "The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen".
His hands will now be cast in bronze to sit alongside those of other Hollywood stars such as Tom Cruise, Charlton Heston and Bruce Willis.
Connery expressed surprise at the size of the 2 000-strong crowd which cheered him outside the Odeon Cinema as he arrived.
"It's fantastic out there, but I wasn't prepared for such an onslaught," said Connery.
