Charlie Sheen's new role

Los Angeles - Charlie Sheen says he's having fun portraying a toned-down version of his former self on the CBS comedy, Two and Half Men.
Sheen's character plays a hard-partying, womanising bachelor - not too far from the actor's one-time single days.
"It's fun to embrace that guy that doesn't exist anymore," Sheen says. "If we pursued the themes as they were true to life, I don't even think we could be on cable."
He was a little suspicious when approached with the idea of the series, but said he was convinced when he saw the quality of the pilot's script.
"It's nice to be involved in the joke from its inception as opposed to just being the punch line," he says.
Sheen, who previously starred as the deputy mayor of New York on the former sitcom Spin City, has appeared in Platoon, Wall Street and other films.
He's the son of actor Martin Sheen of The West Wing.
In 2002, he married actress Denise Richards.
