London - The Spice Girls may reunite for a forthcoming greatest hits album, former member Mel B said.
Speaking in New York, where she is appearing in a Broadway musical, the 28-year-old singer said she hoped the band would pen a new song for the album.
"We will probably do something together as a group, but not for a while," she said.
"I think they are going to release a (greatest-hits) album, and hopefully we will all get together and write a song for it.
"We keep on talking about it, but everybody has branched off to do their own thing," she told the New York Daily News.
Mel B is starring in the musical Rent and former band mates Mel C and Emma Bunton are expected to turn up to watch in the coming weeks.
Mel B plays the part of HIV-positive drug addict and erotic dancer Mimi, based on the tragic heroine of Puccini's opera La Bohème.
For now, her main problem is hitting the high notes, she said.
"Right now the singing bit is the one that I am not 100% about," she said.
"There are certain notes and certain melodies that I'm not used to singing. I mean, I was in a group with five girls. If the note was too high, someone else would sing it. I was very sheltered in that way." - Ananova.com
