Charlize signs up for Oscars

Los Angeles - Last year's best actress Oscar winner, South Africa's Charlize Theron, has become the first star to sign up to present a golden statuette at the 2005 ceremony, organisers announced on Wednesday.
Oscars show producer Gil Cates unveiled the first of the constellation of celebrities who will hand over cinema's most prestigious awards at the 77th Annual Academy Awards on February 27.
Theron picked up the top female acting award last year for her role as serial killer Aileen Wuornos in the biopic Monster.
The former ballerina transformed her stunning looks with the aid of prosthetics and a good intake of doughnuts to play the murderous prostitute.
The 29-year-old Theron's Oscar nomination for Monster was her first ever and marked the peak of her rapid rise to the top of Hollywood's totem pole.
She will next be seen on the big screen in two films due for release this year, Aeon Flux, in which she plays a mysterious and amoral secret agent, and in the courtroom drama Class Action.
Nominations for this year's Academy Awards will be announced on Tuesday in Beverly Hills and the glittering awards ceremony will go ahead in Hollywood about a month later.
